When My Roots are Oily, But my Ends are Dry

Oily hair is caused by a number of reasons: Often people purchase products to treat dry hair in order to treat the ends, but the extra moisturizing will cause problems if the roots are already oily, so it’s best to use products for oily hair to combat the oiliness and then moisturize just the ends of the hair where the moisture is needed. There are many reasons why hair could be oily at the root, below are the most common reasons. Oily hair can be a result of over washing your hair. When you continue to wash your hair, the scalp over compensates by producing more oil. Long showers with hot water (which dries the scalp) will also increase the oiliness of your scalp. Dry scalp . This may sound unusual that a dry scalp would cause hair to be oily, but what happens is that when the scalp is dry, it secretes more oil to counter the dryness.  If you suffer from dandruff and oily hair, this would be an indication that your scalp is compensating for dryness by putting out more oil. To relieve this, you can massage our Organic Tea Tree Oil (must be used diluted in a carrier oil) into your scalp to reduce the dandruff and help moisturize your scalp.
