Please note: henna does not lighten your hair. It will add shine and colour to your existing hair colour. For example, for dark toned hair you will benefit from the conditioning and volumizing effect of henna, and the red dye of the henna will be apparent as a highlight. Henna does cover greys effectively and naturally.
Although our products are 100% natural and some are also organically certified, it is always advisable to do a strand and sensitivity test to ensure you aren’t allergic to any of our products, and that you are achieving the desired color results. To do a strand test, take some hair from your hairbrush or save some strands from a recent haircut and using with the exact recipe you’d like to use but with a smaller batch, use enough just for a test.
Even peanuts cause allergic reactions. Henna is very safe and allergic reactions are rare, but it’s always best to do a skin test before using anything new. To do this, mix a small amount of powder with water to create a paste. Apply it to the inside of your elbow and wait for an hour. If you find that you are itchy, or have gotten a rash within that hour, you are sensitive and we would not suggest you use henna to colour or treat your hair. In most cases henna is not the herb that can cause allergies. We’ve found in most cases clients were allergic to indigo. Always do your skin patch tests to be certain to rule out any allergic reactions.

I have never tried henna, but I would really like to try it. However, I am afraid of my grey hair turning bright red or worse, orange! Is it even remotely possible for me to get the hair color on the model above? I am black with natural hair and my natural hair color is medium to dark brown with a few grey strands sprinkled in for good measure. Jet black hair does not look good with my skin tone, so I would rather stay with lush brown tones. Please advise. I would be most appreciative. Thank you.
