Pregnancy is a time to embrace, and beautify yourself. Take time for yourself, and enjoy your experience being pregnant. Having a henna gathering will bring all of your friends, and family closer together.
Having had 6 children, I experienced with henna on and off during my pregnancies, and enjoyed decorating my own belly with henna. My midwives loved it!!
Using henna during pregnancy is completely safe. Make sure the henna paste (artist uses) is 100% pure, and hand mixed. Having a blend with lavender only is safest. Please check with your doctor/midwife to be certain it is safe for you. It’s also a great alternative to chemical hair dyes, which we highly advise you against using during pregnancy. Use henna and natural herbs to color, and strengthen your hair during pregnancy. How to use Henna, please read.
Having henna belly art is soothing, and relaxing. Similar to a spa treatment. It is very intimate, exciting, and just gorgeous!
This artform is also called Mother Blessing (blessingway) that is done to bless the mother, and baby to be.

Thanks for your post Mira. Is your question about hair color or prenatal belly art? This post is about prenatal belly art.
But for hair color, then you have to do more then one application to make it deeper orange. You want more orange tones?
Hi Khadija,
My sister loves these belly pics, and has a pregnant friend. Do you have some sort of kit people could use to do these?
Oops…. sorry, found it.

i got a henna packet and followed the steps on the box but when the henna came off, it was more orange than anything.
on my 2nd try i even did the sugar/lemon paste thing and still got the same results..
i was hoping to get a dark brown color?? or even a black??
how do i do that?
thanks!
HI, thanks for your post!
I loved doing my own belly during pregnancy as well.
Just to make sure, did you use our henna products? Which henna was it?
Did you use any hypafix on it? I really recommend wrapping it up with hypafix for best results.
It should come out on the belly a reddish brown tone, but natural henna won’t stain black. But if you go to a body painter they might be able to paint your belly the exact colors you want. Speak soon!
I feel kinda strange being the ONLY guy to post a comment on a blog of this nature, but when I saw those AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL henna bellies I just had to say something about them. What I want to say is this:Henna art applied to big round pregnant bellies is SOOOOO APPEALING and PLEASING TO LOOK AT!!!!!!!!!!!!
