Oh Miami! The beautiful sun, warm breeze, blue-green water, palm trees and delicious foods. You were so sweet to us. Why did we leave so soon?
Me and the hubby, Jamal, went to Miami for some fun in the sun, a beautiful wedding for two close friends, and a henna of a good time. Henna cones were securely packaged and ready to fly.
We had an early morning flight. Just the two of us. No kids!
I love seeing the clouds from the airplane. It’s a time of reflection when looking at the simple things in life. Nature is so generous to us.
Jamal looking so handsome sipping watermelon and mint tea with me. The lunch at The Thyme restaurant was fabulous. It’s pricey but worth the treat to ourselves. Everything about the Carillon Hotel was just perfect.
We took some free time to go to their spa which is complimentary. Yes FREE! The spa highlights were the Carribean monsoon, whirlpool beds, crystal steam room (my fave!), igloo (believe it or not), and herbal laconium. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself. It’s hard stopping your work, being a mom, a wife, and yes a maid as well, to do something for yourself. I was still trying to put towels away, pick up things, and my brain was still going everywhere. The kind Trinidadian sister told me to relax and let them take care of everything. I breathed with a sigh.
The sands of Miami Beach are so unique, and unlike any sand I’ve seen before. It’s shell-like but not in an annoying pinch your feet type of way. It was actually really nice. It didn’t stick to me like fine sand does. Loved it!
Of course I whipped out a henna cone and got busy on my feet. One more thing checked off of my bucket list. Henna at the beach. It dried so quickly and the color got really dark. Thank you Miami sun and heat.
This was the color on my feet after leaving the henna on for only a couple of hours. Usually I try to keep it on all night long but it was wedding time! Just love the color results. Currently it’s a rich burgundy.
Jamal and I at the wedding. I think we look pretty gorgeous if you ask me.
The highlight of our trip was the gorgeous and fabulous Carolina and Guilherme. The wedding ceremony was mostly in portuguese, which was such an amazing insight into Brazilian culture. They had Jamal as one of their special speakers. He recited some Qu’ran, and gave them advice and words of wisdom on marriage. So beautiful!
Kancho Cameron Shayne with his beautiful wife Melayne. These two are just amazing and wonderful people. Bringing to us the flow, strength and beauty of Budokon Yoga. This is a really good video. Please watch: Seal the Deal – Budokon Yoga.
How did they know my favorite color is green?
On our way home from Miami to Baltimore giving a little love to you guys through our Instragram page.
My in flight henna doodle. Micron pens are the best. Every journey is an opportunity for inspiration. In those moments what inspires you just draw. Don’t over think it. ..The most beautiful art is created with complete release. Trust your inner self.
Bbrrrr it’s cold here in Baltimore. Miami how I miss you ❤️. All I brought back was this mug. I should have brought back the sand, blue-green ocean, the warm breeze, palms trees, and the delicious foods. What do you ❤️ about Miami? Wouldn’t you like to go there right now?
