Mindy is a professional henna artist based out of Missouri, and has been using jamila, and yemeni henna powder as part of her henna body art recipe.
She has been ordering her products from Henna Sooq since 2006.
Here is her recipe:
“I used 2 parts yemen to 1 part Jamila, brewing it with lime juice, lemon eucalyptus, cardamom and lavender essential oils. I let it brew for a day in a 120 degree car before putting into cones. ”
I found it really neat that she brews it in her car. It must be pretty warm! I personally leave my on top of my fridge covered with some saran wrap.
Here are also some paste on, and paste off shots of Mindy’s results with her henna paste recipe.

Not to mention my car smells so gooooood when I open that door, a wonderful smell of henna and essential oils. I work in an office so my car is in a parking lot in full sun all day. Perfect brewing conditions:o)

Beautiful design! So the heat makes a darker stain? I never thought about that except for the boiling liquid added to the powder.
Thank you Israa. The warmth does help the henna stain darker. Don’t add boiling hot liquid to your henna powder but let the liquid cool down to warm and then add it. If you add boiling liquid it’ll make the dye demise too quickly
Thank you Khadija! I am going to try making my own henna paste-I will let the liquid cool down!
