You’ll need a very good camera. It should have at least 10.0 mega pixels or more. This will allow you to take large sized photos that will be high quality, and you will be able to use them in printed materials. Some camera’s won’t take good photos for printing, and then it’ll make it look blurry. We recommend you get one that has a macro, and image stabilizer option. There are a lot of great cameras out there, and you can choose depending on your level of experience in photography. You will also need to purchase a photo editing program for best results. This is the camera we use, below.

You should choose the right packaging for your product that will make it stand out from the rest of the competition. Make sure that the packaging protects the product as well, and looks clean, and professional.

Labelling is very important. We highly recommend you purchase all of your labels from OnlineLabels.com. They have a large variety of labels, styles, colors, and sizes. They also have weatherproof labels which are perfect for hair oils, and any products that are liquid. We changed our own labels to weatherproof, as when our older labels would get touched by the product inside the container, it would cause the ink to run, and smudge. We also like their glossy labels which really make a product stand out. One thing they offer once you purchase with them is their Maestro Label program where you can create and print out your labels.

When making your own products do as much research you can on the product, and even test it out on others, or yourself beforehand (do not test on animals). You have to especially choose the right ingredients, and scent for the product, and use the right preservatives, as needed.  No one wants to receive a product that goes rancid on them. Would you use it?

Even with henna paste take care with shipping it out, as most fresh henna pastes don’t last the shipping time, and will demise. Make sure you know how to prepare it so that the dye does not demise.
