Here are some simple recipes for mixing your natural hair products.
Please remember when using any new hair product it is always recommended that you do hair strand tests first!
We also encourage you to add orange blossom water, rose water or essential oils to your pastes and mud, to leave your hair smelling great!
Important: Please keep in mind that everyone has their own unique hair texture. Herbal treatments can be drying for some, and it is recommended that you add hair oil to your recipe, or deep condition your hair afterwards. We recommend that everyone keep an open mind when using henna and natural herbs on their hair, and use the recipe that works best for you!
Amla, hair oil
Amla oil is applied onto the hair after washing (and after henna and any herbal hair treatment). It is rubbed through the hair and massaged into the scalp to promote blood circulation. This also brings forth not only natural shine and soft texture, but rejuvenates dry and damaged hair.
Amla oil may also be put directly into your henna paste. Add 1 tbsp per 25 grams of powder.
How to store your oil: cool, dark place.
Purchase our Organic Amla Oil
This hair oil using this detils fully my mail id send me plz
I think amla’s great but it stinks a mile long! Any ideas about this horrible stench and qualming it?
Hi Justine
I don’t think you’ve ever used our amla hair oil then, have you? Because ours bascially has no scent. It smells like a light oil, like even how light vegetable oil smells.
If you have an oil that you don’t like the scent of, then I’d recommend you add a few drops of essential oil to the oil to make it smell nicer, and perhaps even one that benefits the hair, such as lavender, clary sage, or rosemary.
Does your amla oil contain mineral oil?
Hello Sharon
It does contain light liquified paraffin. This base may change in the future. Even other amla brands of oil, contain this as well. We feel it might be a better choice to change the base on our next order.
Hello, I’m about to purchase Amla, how soon will this change (mineral oil) be. I think removing the mineral oil would be great. What was the reason for it or the reason for removing it?
Thanks,
Tonya
The amla oil will probably only be changed within the next few months. We’re waiting for our current stock to be finished and want to have a more natural and beneficial oil to be the base of this hair oil as well.
Are you considering Alma oil with a Coconut oil base? I have read the best base is made w/ Coconut oil but this is hard to find since most companies do the mineral or sesamie seed oil base. Thank you for all your info. I am currently going to try the cocveda oil for now until I can find the alma coconut oil base.
Thanks for your post Jessica
I agree with you completely. We do want the base changed, and have plans to do so within the next 6 months as stock dimishes.
We haven’t decided if it’s going to be a coconut oil base, or another. But we really like getting suggestions as that most likely is what most will want.
We’ll really consider using a coconut oil base absolutely! Glad you are enjoying Cocoveda.
Does the Amla oil still have a mineral oil base?
i am looking to purchase moroccan henna for me hair, and would like the coconut oil base amla oil to use after my henna.
It hasn’t been changed as yet as we are about relocate back to the USA and I would expect the change to happen within 4-5 months when things settle down, and we order new hair oils from India.
One of the things I like best about HennaSooq is how honest you are. That’s one of several reasons I keep shopping here (along with the excellent product). Thanks so much!!!
Alexandra, this is definetely a post that makes me feel really amazing! That one of the things I ask for: Just to see that I am honest, and want to treat people like I’d like to be treated. Welcome. Thank you so much!
Can amla oil be used on permed hair and on african american hair? What are the benefits.
Thanks!
Thank you for your post Debrah
Yes you can use it for those who perm or relax their hair, and this is safe enough to use on all hair types and especially those who want moisturization. This oil and amla in general is good for hair growth.
my hair is really dry and scanty and really breaks. is there any need for me to use amla oil and how do I use it? Any suggestion would be welcome. Thank you.
Good morning Khadija,
I wanted to check the status of the amla hair oil and if you have a reformulated oil without the mineral oil. If so, did you go with the coconut base? I will be purchasing Yemeni henna soon and would love to have the amla oil to add to it if it is reformulated.
Thanks for your response and I too am very appreciative of your time and honesty!
Thank you for your post Rita.
Amla oil would be a good choice. Argan oil is a richer hair oil though, that you may also want to consider. You can add a dime amount to your palm and then rub that thoroughly through your hair and brush it through. After washing your hair is a good time, or even to use it as an overnight treatment.
Thank you for your post Joan. Yes we have not yet reformulated. But it will be announced once we get to do that. We are low in amla oil so hopefully soon as the stock runs out. Thanks again!
Please please oh please please tell me you have reformulated the amla oil!!!!! I have searched EVERYWHERE for a more pure amla and cant find it! please?
Hi Brandy. Yes we have gotten a new formulated Amla Oil which is amazing but you will never find it 100% pure. It’s very very expensive and we couldn’t get hold of it in India. It’s always diluted with another base oil. Did you get a chance to check it out online?
Hello, and thank you for providing this wealth of information! I am wondering if an application of Amla oil AFTER a henna, will tone down the red as much as mixing the powders? Thank you for any advice you can offer.
Welcome Emily. Thank you for stopping by. The amla oil won’t affect your color, nor tone down the red of henna. The powder is more affective in toning down the red of henna when mixed with it directly.
I was wondering if the amla oil helps to preserve the wave as much as the powder? I have a very loose wave that I want to encourage, and want to henna with what I just received from you very soon, but I don’t want to loosen the wave. Thanks for any information you can provide!
