Natural Henna paste will take time to naturally reached peak color on your skin. When henna paste boosts a very quick color, it usually has other dyes or preservatives in it to give it that boost. This means that it will fade quickly as well.

Here are a few tips, and info on natural henna paste:

  • The best henna that a person, and artist can use is a handmade henna paste that is made with all natural ingredients. It won’t contain preservatives, dyes nor chemicals.
  • Natural henna stains all skin tones the same as you see in the above photo. Usually good henna paste will stain the skin up to cherry black tones. Aftercare is also very important in achieving best results.
  • The stain does vary in results depending on where on the skin it has been put onto. For example, the skin on the palm and feet are thicker so it will stain darker, but areas like arms, backs, and neck will stain lighter tones because the skin is thinner. Thicker skin absorbs more of the henna dye then thinner areas.
  • The henna paste must be left on for at least 3-4 hours, and overnight is even better. Spray lemon sugar on your design at least 2-3 times when it’s dry. Please wrap with our hypafix or mefix tape when it’s dry.
  • Aftercare is very important. Remove henna paste, and avoid contact with water for the next 24 hours. Apply our aftercare henna balm for moisturizing, and to protect it from any water contact.
  • For henna to oxidize you need at least 24 hours to allow it to do so. What this means is that the henna design after you have left the henna paste on and you’ve removed the dried paste, then give it at least 24 hours to reach peak color.
  • Ideally 36-48 hours is when the henna reaches its complete peak in color. This is why we recommend brides, and clients preparing for special events, weddings, and/or parties should do their henna at least 2 days in advance.
