Henna + Hibiscus + Cocoa Butter = moisture rich hair recipe.
Mix your henna and hibiscus petal powder together in a bowl. Equal proportions of each or as desired.
In another bowl over low heat slowly melt your cocoa butter wafers until fully melted. Allow to cool and then pour into your powder mix. Mix well until consistency of a thick yoghurt. You can add water, coconut milk or more cocoa butter if your mix is too dry.
Apply onto your hair by sections. I’ve always found that doing four sections work the best. I usually start at the front and work towards the back.
Once completed, wrap your hair and allow to stay in your hair 1-2 hours. Rinse out, dry and style as usual.
Gorgeous moisture rich hair perfect for your new Fall/Winter regimen.
We recommend this hair conditioning treatment be repeated every 2-3 weeks.
Hi Khadija, is there any dye release with this mixture or is it only conditioning?
Hello Erika, and good morning! You actually have control over the possible color through how much henna you add to the recipe. You can add a small amount of each herb and more cocoa butter if you prefer not to have much or any color. If you add a lot more henna you’ll get a bit more color. Generally though cocoa butter does reduce the red of the henna.
You could add cassia but it won’t reduce much . It’ll just make it a bit more orangey. Very amla powder instead.
If you really want to avoid orangey tones you may need amla or something stronger like our organic indigo. That would really work. Add at least 10-20% of your recipe to start.
Hi, can I add my special hair cream instead of coca butter
Hello Nuha! You can do so if you’d like. Some of our clients even add conditioner.
