Good quality henna that has a very high dye content like our Red Raj, will stain a gorgeous deep rich burgundy-red tone every time.

We’ve had plenty of clients worry that their henna wouldn’t stain that dark. Henna does not discriminate and stains everyone.

Here are a few key tips on getting dark stains.

As a henna artist or person applying the henna:

• Make sure to use our Red Raj and follow our easy henna recipe (this will come with your henna) using the same high quality ingredients we use.
• After the henna design dries, always make sure to apply sugar-lemon juice (sealant), either by spray or dabbing.
• Allow to dry, and then wrap with hypafix tape. If you don’t have hypafix tape, make sure to apply at least 2-3 layers of lemon-sugar sealant.
• Leave on the skin at least 3-4 hours or overnight for best results.
• Remove paste with oil or scrap off.
• The least amount of water that is exposed to the henna design in the first 24 hours, the better the stain will be.
• Make sure to moisturize your henna design with oils or cosmetic butters.
• The better the after care the longer your henna will last.

As the receiver of henna:

• Make sure to apply your own lemon-sugar sealant after the henna is completed and dry.
• Allow to dry and wrap with hypafix tape. We love hypafix tape!
• Leave on for at least 3-4 hours or overnight for best results.
• The least amount of water that is exposed to the henna design in the first 24 hours, the better the stain will be.
• Make sure to moisturize your henna design with oils or cosmetic butters.
• The better the after care the longer your henna will last.

What if I don’t have Red Raj henna powder?

In this case, it’s best to at least have a body art quality henna powder such as Jamila, Moroccan or Rajasthani Indian henna powders that you can also find at HennaSooq.com
