We apologize for the late post! -Khadija

Hair masques are a great way to unwind and relax, especially if you include essential oils! As well as the unwinding and relaxing aspect, hair masques are a great way to “feed” your hair by adding moisture, conditioning, and for cleansing.

Great essential oils for spa are Lavender, Sweet Orange, Patchouli… any essential oil that you love! Just add a few drops to your spa recipe. 🙂

Nourishing and Cleansing Rhassoul Hair Masque (for all hair types)
Depending on your hair type, the length at which the rhassoul treatment stays on the hair differs.  According to the blog post  “How To Use Ghassoul (rhassoul) For Soft, Healthy Skin And Hair“,  the rhassoul treatment should be applied to damp hair and left on for 5-10 minutes for dry hair  (this can be done in the shower), on normal hair, let sit 5-15 minutes, and for oily hair, let sit 10-20 minutes. Deep conditioning may or may not be necessary afterwards, depending on your hair type.

  • 3TBS  organic rhassoul powder made into a paste with pomegranate or carrot juice
  • 1/2 cup  light greek yogurt
  • a drizzle or your favorite oil (organic argan, organic camellia, olive etc)
  • 1TBS of aloe vera gel or organic aloe vera powder
Adjust amount according to your hair length. Mix all ingredients together and apply over hair and leave on for the specified amount of time according to hair type.

Avocado Hair Masque for Dry Tresses
  • 1 avocado mashed very well
  • 1-2TBS coconut milk or Greek Yogurt
  • 1 egg yolk  (no whites/albumen as it can dry out the hair)
  • A couple of splashes of Chamomile tea

Combine all ingredients and apply to freshy washed damp hair.  Leave on for an hour and rinse with cool or lukewarm water to prevent egg hardening.

Coconut Milk and Cassia (Vegan Treatment)

Combine all ingredients and apply to freshly washed hair.  Leave on for an hour and rinse well.

Tropical Organic Hibiscus Hair Masque

Mix all ingredients very well, apply to the hair and leave for an hour.  Rinse with warm water.

**TIP.  For coloring, use henna powder instead of organic cassia obovata.

Combine/mix and match ingredients to create your own unique treatment. Happy hair treatments!
