On a rather exciting note, our new Cocoveda Hair Oil is finally here!
We had specially selected some of the finest herbs for hair and blended them with our coconut oil. We prepared to create the perfect hair oil using all the goodness of India’s Ayurvedic herbs. We made sure this oil was going to be exactly what everyone desires and needs!

We chose 100% pure coconut oil as our base oil, because during our research and from our experience coconut oil is the most popular and beneficial hair oil to be used.
Coconut oil is known for adding shine, and bounce to your hair. It moisturizes very well. It is also a light hair oil, and absorbs very well. It smells so amazing, you almost want to eat it (but don’t eat ours!).  Coconut oil strengthens the hair shaft, reducing split ends, and hair breakage. 

The herbal extracts that were chosen are listed here:

• Henna: this was added because the henna plant is known for strenghtening the hair, and conditioning it.
• Shikakai: we added this herb because it is known for promoting hair growth
• Neem: relives dry, itchy scalp. It is widely used in ayurvedic hair oils. It is used to treat the symptoms of scalp psoriasis. It gives you shiny, silky, stronger hair and encourages growth.
• Amla: this herb also is known for promoting hair growth, and thickening hair. It is also known to prevent premature greying
• Methi (fenugreek): known to reduce hair loss, and thinning. Treats dandruff.
• Bhringraj: we added this herb to improve the condition of the hair, quality of the hair color, and for healthy scalp and hair.
• Brahmi: used to improve hair growth, and is known to be a memory enhancer.
• Nagarmotha: it works on the hair root, and stimulates it. It is used to treat scalp disorders.
• Ginger: is considered one of the most powerful herbs in ayurveda. It has very potent stimulating properties, and increases blood circulation to your scalp will which result in faster growing hair.
• Hibiscus:a very popular addition to ayurvedic hair care, it contains an abundant amount of astringent properties that are ideal for oily hair. It also soothes eczema, and dry scalp conditions.

You can use Cocoveda Hair Oil as a deep conditioning treatment. To do this, just apply onto your hair, in a quantity that is needed for your hair length, and rub thoroughly into your hair and scalp. This promotes further blood circulation. Put a shower cap over your hair, and leave on for about one hour. Rinse out when finished.

Coconut oil can solidify in cooler temperatures. Some clients enjoy using the coconut oil when it is thick. It will return to a liquid very quickly when warm, even in your own palms. Use as needed, and especially along with your henna and herbal hair treatments.

I just feel like writting tonight. I feel like talking, and sharing.

Hope I got some listeners

So, about Michael Jackson. Well it’s not like I knew him personally, but he touched my life in a way that really made me feel sad about his death. I feel likeI want to say a few things, about how I felt, but really I kind of felt really sorry for him. Sorry that he had hard times in his life and seemed to be constantly struggling with who he was and wanting just to be loved.
I just felt that he seemed to have to grow up so fast and never be a kid. Such a talented individual. So happy that he embraced Islam before his time was up (Only God knows for sure).

For someone to reach so many people, different races, cultures, and both women and men. It would have been nice if he could have taken all those amazing things, and done something really productive so that we could have something that he left behind.

It’s like when you plant a tree in your life, and it bears fruits. That tree is still left there after your death, to continue to bear fruit and feed people. It is something that will benefit you in the afterlife. It is a blessing.

When someone dies, everyone feels so badly. But within the next few days after, everyone starts thinking about money, and material things. It just ruins those intense moments of remembrance. It’s like that for everyone, when someone dies. Anyone who’s been through that, will know that.
MJ, also reminds me of a time with my father. My own memories. My dad was a DJ in his lifetime, and I sure did have BAD posters on my wall. The music reminds me of my father, and a time that has passed.

It makes me sad, to see how time flies by, and I wonder what I will leave behind? What will be remembered? What can I do to make a difference? With time, lives just fade away.

Death is a reminder to all of us. It is a reminder that every single individuals time will come, and we will have to answer. Whether you believe or not, still…what will you leave behind? How can you be sure about what is to come in the afterlife?

This is a time for reflection and thought. Do something with your life. Don’t hesitate, don’t make excuses because time is going to pass and when time passes, the could have, should have, would have, will be worth nothing.

Be at peace with yourself. Be at peace with others. Just do it, because you can. No more excuses. No more.

Our cold-pressed, pure argan oil is imported directly from Morocco.

Argan oil is exceptionally rich in natural vitamin E, Omega 9, Omega 6, rich in phenols, phenolic acid, carotenes, squalene, and essential fatty acids.

The unroasted oil is traditionally used as a treatment for skin diseases, and is widely used in cosmetics. 

Using the oil for hair: Omega 9 that is found in argan oil has shown to help with strengthening, and to achieve overall healthy hair. Argan oil is non-greasy and non-oily and has become popular as a hair treatment to repair and heal damaged hair. It has the ability to naturally hydrate and to help stop frizziness, fly-away and hard to control, unmanageable hair.
It is excellent for locking in moisture and improving shine and luster. Argan oil has been shown to penetrate the hair shaft and almost instantly improve follicle elasticity, and increase nourishment. It is known to able to help treat psoriasis.

Argan oil absorbs very quickly. It has a light nutty scent. The scent is not lasting, and if you’d like to, we recommend you add a touch of one of our essential oils (especially one that will benefit your hair) to your argan oil.

Tradtionally, the women used to grind the nuts themselves and extract the oil from them. You can still find women doing this in Morocco, but machines are also used to do the final processing.

We added a few new essential oils that are really great for your hair, and we recommend then being used as part of your hair regimen.
Our essential oils are 100% pure, and must only be used in small amounts. Make sure to take note on any warnings regarding the use of certain essential oils. All warnings and details will be clearly written out at the Henna Sooq website, under each product, and we welcome feedback/comments.

We recommend they be put directly into your henna or herbal recipe, or add a few drops into your hair oil (or create your own personalized hair oil with some of our oils).

For Hair: Lemongrass is particularly beneficial for oily hair, and helps promote body and shine.

Other uses: Lemongrass is known for its invigorating and antiseptic properties. It can be used used in facial toners as it’s astringent properties help fight acne and greasy skin. An excellent anti-depressant, lemongrass tones and fortifies the nervous system and can be used in bath for soothing muscular nerves and pain. Lemongrass shares similar properties with citronella and has a great reputation for keeping insects away.

 For hair: Clary sage, is known to cleanse greasy hair as it helps control excessive oil secretions. It is very effective in treating dandruff, dry skin, dry hair. When used as a scalp massage, clary sage oil encourages hair growth, and minimizes hair loss. It can also coat the hair shaft, and improve shine. This is a benefical oil to be added to your henna and herbal hair recipe.

Other uses: Clary Sage oil is viewed by aromatherapists as an antidepressant, and antispasmodic, deodorant, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, sedative, tonic and uterine. It is well known for providing a euphoric action, for balancing uterine issues and there is also some documentation of its effectiveness in helping to relax the spasms of asthma.  This oil promotes the regeneration of skin cells, helping to ward off wrinkles and keep skin looking healthy and youthful. It also improves acne and seborrhea.

For hair: Rosemary is used in hair care to stimulate hair growth and improves most scalp problems, particularly dandruff and seborrhea. It nourishes the scalp and keeps hair looking healthy and shiny.

Other uses: Rosemary is credited as stimulating and warming actions and can be used in numerous skin care products. It is said to have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. It is used to balance intense emotions and control mood swings. It lifts spirits, counters depression and assist in managing stress.

Spring is my favorite season, personally. I love to garden. I love the start of the warmer weather. The fresh start makes me feel invigorated.

Right now we have our professional body art glue in stock, and our Jamila henna powder for hair.

This vial contains 11 ml of professional quality body glue. This product is used to create glitter tattoos that last 4-5 days, and are waterproof.
It can also be used to stick gems, rhinestones, or crystals. The glue (and glitter tattoos) can be removed with 99% rubbing alcohol.

This has an applicator wand similar to a lip-gloss applicator.  It is the easiest application method for applying Body Glue over stencils. You can also use it to do simple freehand designs.

Our Jamila henna powder for hair will come packaged in clear cellophane packaging inside a sealed, non-shiny Jamila henna box. There will be no date marked on the box, but it is from the henna harvest of 2008.

What the company (Abid & Co.) that owns Jamila henna powder has done this year is labelled the inside of the box with “Henna for Hair“. This way you will know just how fresh your jamila henna for hair is, and that it was packaged in 2008.
If you receive a unsealed box or package of Jamila henna, then you will know that your product has been tampered with and possibly repackaged.

This is a very popular and easy way to use your glitter.

After you’ve done your henna design and it is still wet, lightly squeeze the glitter poof bottle over top of the henna design, so that the glitter falls right on top of the design giving it that sparkly shine.

Once the paste crumbles off or is removed, the glitter will also come off in this process.

This method is great for kids, festivals, and many occasions to add something extra special to your henna design, either as a professional henna artist or enthusiast.

 How to create glitter tattoos

In this method you can create glitter temporary tattoos that last at least 4-5 days. This method is great for adding glitter to a design that you want the glitter to last longer, such as for bridal mehndi, or for kids who can’t have a henna design.

To do this, you’ll need acrylic adhesive. You paint the acrylic adhesive on into the stencil or freehand, and allow to dry. Once this is dry, you can poof the glitter color(s) that you’d like to apply. Just brush or gently blow the excess away.

 How to create glitter gel

 This can last a few hours or up to 24 hours, as this depends on what quality of gel you use to make your glitter gel.

To make glitter gel, get a high quality gel that is long lasting and/or waterproof. A good quality gel is visible by its very small air bubbles inside of the hair gel product. You will need to add 2 parts glitter to 8 parts gel. You can play around with the proportions as desired.
