In the Fields of Moroccan Henna

In the Fields of Moroccan Henna

Morocco. A place of henna, beauty, delicious food and mint tea. Sigh! This beautiful plant is the henna shrub. This is the very first henna powder I was ever introduced to. I must have been only about 18 years old and decided to try henna for hair using this luscious henna powder. In Montreal there is a huge Moroccan community and you can get so many wonderful Moroccan treasures there. I recall being so confused about why they wouldn’t need time to mix the henna and allow it to sit for long periods of time. I came to learn that Moroccan henna needs a short dye release time and then can be used. It’s unique fresh scent always gives it away from the other henna powders. I can’t wait for our new Moroccan henna batch to arrive in just a few weeks ❤️ Have you ever tried Moroccan henna? How did you use it? In the fields of fresh Moroccan henna plants 🌱 we at Henna Sooq and our clients await the new batch of Moroccan henna that will be arriving soon. Hand sifted by the women’s cooperative in Morocco (and triple checked). The smell and freshness of this henna powder has always been so uplifting. Moroccan henna naturally colors the hair a gorgeous copper tone and with indigo easily creating brown to black tones (yes this will cover greys). For body art henna designs this henna will be ready quickly and leaves gorgeous rich copper-burgundy stains on the skin lasting 7-10 days. We will have this back in stock in 3-4 weeks (ETA 11/10/16). Stay tuned for our...

Have you tried Henna Mixed with Jagua?

Have you tried Henna Mixed with Jagua?

I’m absolutely having a ball of a time by mixing jagua juice with my henna paste. It creates such a beautiful rick dark stain that naturally comes out black. So yes! Henna can be black staining with the addition of jagua juice. Jagua juice is from the genipa americana fruit with is also used to create jagua gel. You take the jagua juice as a replacement for your liquids usually used in the creating of your henna paste. See how creamy and smooth my henjua paste is. I use our Supreme Blend henna powder, Red Raj Bliss Blend EO, some fructose sugar and Jagua Juice. I don’t typically measure as I’ve been making henna paste so long that I’m comfortable like a chef would be with their cooking. We also have our henjua paste cones available. I had a client ask me to mix henna and henjua paste to make a two toned henna design. Can you tell which one is henna and which is henjua? For Mary we had a second attempt at her henjua design due to my first batch not having a high content of jagua juice (only 25%) and in that lesser batch really only yielded her a dark red design that looked like it only was henna. This time this popular favorite came out such a deep rich black. Incredibly gorgeous! View the stain results on our Instagram (CLICK). Oh Kitty! I think he loves me. You can also play and create with Jagua Juice. We carry it online and in our Maryland studio. Orders can be placed online at Henna Sooq or come...
