Beautifully Sexy Henna Belly for Curly Nikki

Beautifully Sexy Henna Belly for Curly Nikki

Curly Nikki, her hubby and little Gia are awaiting a new arrival ❤️ I had the honor of henna’ing Nikki’s belly not only once but twice (three times a charm?! hint, hint). Thank you so much Nikki for having me adorn that beautiful baby to be. Photography credits to myself, Khadija. Have you heard of Curly Nikki or seen her on her instagram page @curlynikki or seen her on TV such as on Dr. Oz’s show? She’s a pioneer in the natural hair community sharing her expertise and her own personal experiences. She was also on on Good Morning Washington this morning discussing winter hair care and styles. Did you happen to watch her on the show? Gia is so excited about their new arrival coming in just a few short months. So exciting having a little brother! She also did so amazing getting her henna done. She sat very still and took very good care of her design. We both agreed we wanted it to come out as “red” as possible and last a really long time. She is such a bundle of creativity and she says the cutest things....

Back in Maryland

Back in Maryland

I’m back! I got in late Thursday evening. Stay tuned for my coming blog post: 2 Cities in Ten Days. I drove with all 6 kiddos across the border into the USA from  Canada which took me a total of about 12 hours. It should really only be about 9 hours but we stopped a few times and I got really tired a few times but we made it. It’s great to be back home in Maryland. People always ask me if I prefer Canada over the USA or vice versa. I actually like each place for different reasons. I always will love home (Canada) since those are my roots. Maryland is an area where I feel like I’ve become myself and that I’m able to fully express who I am and what I do. People ask if I’m scared or if bad things have happened to me because I am Muslim but that isn’t the case and I really take that as a blessing because I don’t know what I’d do in those situations. Our main goal is to make it home though, right? So I need to focus on that and not everything else because my husband needs me and my kids want their mother. This discussion could be a whole other blog post. Updates. I apologize for any delayed email replies and hair/henna consultations as I handle those myself and I’m pretty backed up. I’ll be playing catch up for a little bit. I also owe you all the final winners of our 30 days of Ramadan Prizes. I’ll have that up and posted by tomorrow....

Beyonce’s Hot Orange Nails by Lisa Logan

Beyonce’s Hot Orange Nails by Lisa Logan

Beyonce once again had the most gorgeous nails by celebrity manicurist Lisa Logan. Our family is doing big things! Congrats Lisa! “Beyonce is a classy lady and always knows what she wants. When she steps in the room and says, ‘I want orange,’ or any other color, that’s just what we do. No specific rhyme or reason. She has a great innate sense of personal style,” says Logan. Lisa has added yet another landmark to her career as she opened her own salon in Harlem, New York, called “The Nail Suite by Lisa Logan” where she will continue to offer her clients the newest and best in nail fashion.  Appointments can be made...

Celebrity Henna Body Art

Celebrity Henna Body Art

For thousands of years henna has adorned and beautified so many women for just about every special occasion (men do it too sometimes!). Weddings would have to be the most popular of those occasions. Henna isn’t always for those who have a traditional background with henna. Myself, Khadija, have absolutely no upbringing with henna. Many will presume what my background and culture may be. Looks can be deceiving 🙂 No I’m not Arab. Not Moroccan either. Definitely not Indian. I’m actually half guyanese, and half italian. We never did henna once while I was growing up, and neither did any of the generations before me. I took to henna body art in 2005, and have been using henna for natural hair care for over 10 years now. This is an amazing plant brings thousands of years of tradition, cultures and people together. That is the one major reason why I love henna, and why I love to do what we do here at the Henna Sooq. My passion fuels our work. I like that many celebrities enjoy henna body art, and have shared this with the public. They also share with us natural henna, and I often don’t see black henna body art, which is very harmful.    Halle Berry. Yes, henna is safe for pregnant women. In fact, we do a lot of henna belly art clients, and henna is the natural alternative to chemical hair dyes which we recommend during pregnancy.  Katy Perry. She had her henna done in India for her wedding. Vanessa Hudgens Beyonce. I would love to do henna for her. Hoping to get a...
